Emily Riedel Porto M.S. CCC-SLP

Co-Founder

My name is Emily Riedel, and I am a licensed, ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist. I am a native of Loudoun County. I received my undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Virginia and my masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from Radford University. I have experience working with the pediatric population within school, outpatient, and early intervention settings. In all of these settings, I provide coaching for teachers, parents, and guardians to facilitate language and social growth for children.

I am grateful for the presence of meaningful relationships in my own life. I feel passionate about helping children learn the skills needed to foster their own relationships. I facilitate this through a combination of applying my techniques and training with my genuine love and compassion for children and their families. This passion directed me to receive additional training with the PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) institute, SOS (Sequential-Oral-Sensory) Approach to Feeding, SOFFI (Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants), Gestalt Language Processing, and Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking. I am also an ADHD-Certified Rehabilitation Services Provider (ADHD-RSP). These trainings emphasized the importance of treating the whole child within the cognitive-linguistic, social-emotional, and motor domains to meet individualized and functional goals.
